I love snooker. Love it. From an early age I've found snooker to be an adult version of pool. Far more challenging than that simple game of 8 Ball. I like to compare snooker to 8 ball as Chess is to Checkers. Any idiot can play Checkers. It takes skill to play snooker. The table is huge. I mean HUGE.
So, in an effort to breathe life back into the game in our local area, The Cue Ball is offering an in-house snooker league. The game of snooker is not for beginners. We will play by American Snooker rules, with a wrinkle: California 6. The 6 ball is wild and can be shot at any time. However, if you miss, you lose 6 points. If you make it, you gain 6 points. The game is call pocket, No Slop is allowed. I don't care what the British call it, (a fluke) or whether the rules allow it. Snooker is not a game of slop. It is a game of skill. There is no "Clear ball" rule. To start, this will be a handicapped league, with Chip establishing each players handicap.
Each week of play must be completed by Saturday. Players will communicate with each other to schedule their matches. Each weeks schedule will be posted here Saturday evening, with matches to be played any day of the week as scheduled between opponents.
